Ready to Go? Ready to Get! Uchu Sentai Kyuranger ties into Space Squad in June!

A very wise dog once asked, “Is this a crossover episode?” Those words ring true as news  of Uchu Sentai Kyuranger’s 18th episode hits the interwebs!

This will be a tie-in for the massive Space Squad: Uchu Keiji Gavan vs. Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger V- Cinema! One of the many things I love about tokusatsu and superhero culture in general, is its love of crossovers! Seeing my favourite heroes fighting side by side, and sometimes against each other is something that gets me incredibly excited, especially taking that fight to SPACE! Yuma Ishigaki and Ryuji Sainei will be featured as GEki Jumonji/Gavan Type G and Banban Akaza/Deka Red! Bring back the masters and show these young whippersnappers how it’s done!

The synopsis of this particular episode is described as:

Madakko has stolen the Pyxis Kyutama and arrived at a different part of space through a blackhole. The Kyurangers follow but they are encountered by Geki and Ban who, unaware of the situation, arrest the heroes on illegal space travel charges. We will see the encounter of commanders Sho Ronpo and Doggy Krueger as well as the latter’s encounter with Garu, his inter-series brother (?). The episode will also feature team-ups by Lucky/ShishiRed and Ban as well as Naga/HebitsukaiSilver. Ishigaki will show his own skills in scenes before transforming.

Upon this announcement, Takumi Kizu (who portrays Lucky/ShishiRed) commented:

“It is a very rare treat to see not only Gavan but also Dekaranger, 30 minutes is just not enough. I was very nervous about acting alongside my seniors. I like action scenes and I secretly imitated Ishigaki’s moves because he is really good. One of the highlights of the episode is Ishigaki’s action scenes as Geki. He is so cool. Also, the exchange between Gavan and HebitsukaiSilver is very funny. Do not miss this great collaboration!”

Yuma Ishigaki commented:

“Both our series take place in space, which originated this collaboration. I think it will distinguish itself from other joint projects. It is not only an episode of Kyuranger but a prequel of sorts for Space Squad. Look forward to this new crossover.”

Lastly, Ryuji Sainei commented: “While I am aware some viewers don’t know Dekaranger, I intend to make the most of it and show off as much as possible. (laughs). Don’t miss it!”

Space.18 of Uchu Sentai Kyuranger is will launch into the stars on June 11th, 2017! Be there!
